Module 8: Creating Skins, Conditional Build Tags, and publishing your content
This module teaches students how to use the Skins feature to design their output and how publish their Online Manual to the web.
You have finally come to the last step in creating your Online Manual. It is now time for you to publish your work. However, before you publish your work, you may want to change the style (e.g. fonts, colors) of your output. This is where you would use the Skins feature.
Skins
Skin is a feature that allows you to change the design of the WebHelp and FlashHelp outputs. When you publish your Online Manual, your Manual will have the color scheme and overall design that you set in Skins.
To create a Skin to set the design for your output, follow the steps below:
- Double click Skins from the Project Set-up panel on the upper left hand corner of the screen.
- Click the Create a new skin icon (second icon in the panel).
A New Skins Option box appears. You have the option to either create a skin from a gallery (this is an already made skin that you can manipulate); or you can create a custom WebHelp skin (if you want to create a skin from scratch). For the purpose of this lesson, you can choose the create from skin gallery option.- Click OK. A Skin Gallery box appears.
