VenueThe conference will take place at IIT Main campus in Chicago.
(If you are looking at the campus map, the building code is WH.)
The building is located just one block north of red and green line trains; when you arrive to campus, exit the stations near the rear of the train at 33rd Street- that will put you closer to the building than if you use main station exit on the south end of the platform. See map below for more information.
In addition, there will be two general-purpose classrooms, with multiple whiteboards, available for use for small group discussion during the entire event.
During the morning and afternoon breaks, coffee and refreshments will be served outside the Auditorium, in the lobby of the building. Poster session and reception will be held nearby (either same building or accross the street; stay tuned!).

Taxi travel times depend heavily on traffic.
|Info||For more information about this hotel, click here (hotel flyer - pdf), or see Amenities, Services, Room information, and more on this webpage.|
|Notes||If you are staying at the Club Quarters Hotel, you don't have to purchase breakfast there. There are plenty of cafes, bagel shops, etc. nearby, within a 3-minute walk. Other options:We strongly recommend staying at the hotels above. But if the rooms are no longer available by the time you are ready to book, we are aware of a few other options which may be relatively affordable:
Urban Holiday Lofts (Bucktown; kayak.com),
Oak 112 (Gold coast; kayak.com),
Hostelling International Chicago (Loop; http://www.hichicago.org/contact.shtml, hotels.com),
Chicago Getaway Hostel, (Lakeview; http://www.getawayhostel.com),
Days Inn Chicago, (Lincoln park),
Congress Plaza Hotel.
These can be found on any hotel booking website. If you are considering other options, any location that is near the green or red lines, north (or northwest) of the IIT campus, would be convenient for commuting to the conference.
Travel info and mapsIIT is conveniently located in Chicago's Near South Side.
From the hotelsFrom the South Loop Hotel, you can walk, bike or take the 29 bus. Just head straight south down State Street until you reach 33rd; the building will be on your Right (but the main entrance is facing away from State Street).
From Club Quarters, it takes about 25 minutes by bike, and about 11 minutes by train to reach campus. You can take either the Green line or the Red line - board at State&Lake station: Red is underground and Green is on the elevated platform. See below for details on public transit directions..
Public transit information and directions to campusCTA Red and Green lines and bus #29, as well as the Metra train (from La Salle Metra station downtown), stop on campus. These provide direct connections to the Loop and downtown.
Look up CTA fare information to see what best suits your plans; you may consider buying a 3- or 7-day pass instead of single tickets.
** If you are taking the 29 bus from downtown, get off at State & 33rd; you'll be almost directly in front of Wishnick Hall!
** If you are taking the Green line train from downtown (in the direction of either Cottage Grove or Ashland/63rd), get off at 35th/Bronzeville/IIT station, and exit the station toward the rear of the train. Head north (back where the train came from) for 1 block - the first intersection is 33rd and State, and Wishnick Hall should be diagonally accross the intersection. (The main entrance is facing away from State Street.)
** If you are taking the Red line train from downtown (in the direction of 95th/Dan Ryan), get off at Sox/35th station, and exit the station toward the rear of the train (33rd street exit). Turn right at the exit and walk a few minutes (campus is right there); the last building on your left before you reach State Street is Wishnick Hall.
** If you are taking the Metra, get off at the IIT station on 35th street and head north along Federal street. Turn right on 33rd; the last building on your left before you reach State Street is Wishnick Hall.
Taxi from the Loop takes less than 10 minutes and usually costs about $12.
Biking information and directionsIn addition, Chicago has a bike-sharing program, Divvy, which makes it easy to rent one-way bicycles and bike to IIT campus from the Loop, say, along the lakeshore. You can see the map of all bike stations and bike availability information here. One 24-hour pass is $7, and allows you to ride unlimited number of times during the day for up to 30 minutes each time. (Additional half an hour is $2 extra.)
IIT campus has two Divvy bike locations near the conference site; the closest one is at the intersection of State Street and 33rd Street. Closest locations to Club Quarters are at State & Wacker, State & Randolph, and Michigan & Lake streets.
Driving information and directionsIf you are driving to Chicago, note that the campus is near the 31st street exit from the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94). You can look up IIT parking information here. Look for parking near 33rd and State.
