Director of the Concurrent Programming Research Center
Covers the state of the art in the specification, design, and implementation of concurrent languages. Concepts and notations for the development and analysis of concurrent programs. Concurrent Ada, Concurrent-C, and CSP are some of the languages covered and compared. Classical scheduling and many distributed algorithms are implemented.
Science of Programming.
Tzilla Elrad, whose area is software architecture for
concurrent systems, has been on the faculty of Illinois Institute of
Technology since 1982. She is associate professor in the Department of
Computer Science and applied Mathematics. Her res earch interests include
software architecture for concurrent systems, reactive/adaptive
intelligent systems, design issues of concurrent programming languages,
and formal verification.
Tzilla Elrad received her BS in mathematics, phisics, and education from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, and her MS and PhD in computer science from Syracuse University and the Technion, respectively.
