Introduction: The purpose of these lessons are to help 1st grade students become better math students. The students will have the opportunity of working daily on the internet. The students will work on several student friendly search engines and web sites. They will work on addition flash cards, tic tac toe addition, addition concentration, matho bingo, and baseball math.
Purpose: To enhance students skills in addition by using the internet.
Academic Standards (Objectives):

DEMONSTRATE AND APPLY A KNOWLEDGE AND SENSE OF NUMBERS, INCLUDING BASIC ARITHMETIC OPERATIONS, NUMBER PATTERNS, RATIOS, AND PROPORTIONS.

Relate counting, grouping, and place-value concepts to whole numbers and simple decimals.

Activities and Procedures: The students will work on the computers Monday thru Friday. The students will work on math web sites that involve addition. The students will work on flash cards, matho which is bingo and math combined, hidden math pictures, addition concentration, math squares math game, math addition drill and math baseball.
Monday the students will work on math baseball . The students will work on addition in which the student will have to answer math problems. Then the student enter the answer to the problem and hit the "swing" button. If the answer is correct the student get a hit single, double, triple, or home run based on the difficulty of the problem. The game is over after three outs. Can the student hit a homerun?
Tuesday the students will work on math flashcards for kids. The purpose of the game is to improve the students addition skills. Also to make the students better in addition because they are timed to enter an answer. Will the student master the flashcards?
Wednesday the students will work on matho, which is a bingo and math game combined. The students will work on the addition matho. Will the student be able to win?
Thursday the students will work on a math word search. There the students will find math terms. Can the student find all the math terms?
Friday the student the students will work on tic tac toe addition and play the game against the computer answering math questions, and receiving a X or O in the box. Who will win in tic tac toe the computer or the student?
Conclusion: After completing these activities the students will improve their math skills.
