
INTRODUCTION

In these lessons you will be introduced to several plants that eat insects. They are carnivorous (meat-eating) plants. Carnivorous plants are found in various parts of the world.
In these lessons, several types of carnivorous plants will be compared and contrasted in different ways. It is designed for students in grades three through six.
These lessons are recommended to be used as science and reading lessons.
OBJECTIVES:

Throughout the world, from tropical swamps to upland marsh, some more than 300,000 different species exist. Some live in trees, some underwater, but typically they grow in soil that is wet and acid and usually deficient in the nitrates and phosphates that plant life requires.
