THE FOUR INNER PLANETS OF OUR SOLAR SYSTEM

This lesson is designed to teach fourth graders the distinct order of the four inner planets.  Students will learn the symbols for the four inner planets.  Students will make a booklet describing the four inner planets.  Students will make a Solar System Project involving only the four inner planets.  Students will make Solar System Cities on all four planets.  Students will make puzzles of the four inner planets.  Students will write a story about their space trip to one or more of the inner planets.

1.  Write two or three interesting facts about each inner planet.

2.   Draw a picture of each of the four inner planets.

3.   Write about a space trip to one or more of the four inner planets.

                                                                         

   

     1.  Mercury

     2.  Venus

     3.  Earth

     4.  Mars

1.  Make Inner Planet trading cards, showing creatures that  might possibly  live on Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.        

2.  Make a puzzle out of each of the inner planets.

3.  Make a space station, make rocket ships with shuttle craft and make space cities on each planet.

4.  Write a TV show about the four inner planets.

5.  Write a song about all four inner planets.

6.  Construct a game for the class to play concerning all four inner planets.

7.  Make posters of the four inner planets and include all their moons.    

8.  Write a Joke Book about the four inner planets.

9.  Create Solar System Trading Card Game, using the four inner planets.

10. Create an Inner Planet board game .

11. Create a ten question quiz about the inner planets.

12. Draw a picture of yourself in a spacesuit and write about your space trip to all four inner planets.

13. Draw the four inner planets, name, and draw their moons.
