The Track & Field program at Illinois Tech at the start of the 20th century (then Armour Tech) and went on into the 1960s.  However, the program was allowed to lapse.  A few unsuccessful tries and restarting team occurred over the years, but in 2005 the first seeds of the current Track & Field club were sown.  After a few athletes entered local meets, a new interest in track started to grow The 2008 season saw a track club with nearly 25 athletes competing in meets again NCAA Div. I, NCAA Div. III and NAIA teams -- and consistently beating them.

Despite having a limited number of athletes, IIT T&F entered 11 invitationals and was more than competitive.  The women and the men placed and won many events against very strong fields while at the same time breaking Illinois Tech records and setting new ones.  Please use the links at left to take a look into the success of IIT T&F.
